Another Bus Ride Home

As an autistic AFAB person, I find my personal work often explores my complex sensory experience of the world. Having only learnt about my neurodivergence recently in my life, I have carried a lot of shame and felt the pressure to conceal the overwhelm I often feel in spaces like public transport. This piece was created in theory to accompany the article 'Shining a Light on a Hidden Population: Social Functioning and Mental Health in Women Reporting Autistic Traits But Lacking Diagnosis' (2023) H.
